Riviera River Cruises is launching a new generation ships, and the first two are expected to debut in 2025 in Europe.

The new ships are the Riviera Radiance and Riviera Rose. Riviera is making a change in branding, for the first time including the the name of the cruise line in the ship name. Riviera's existing ships are named for British authors.

"We're moving away from using the names of famous British authors and proudly putting our own out there on the bow," said Marilyn Conroy, Riviera's executive vice president of sales and marketing for North America.

The 178-passenger, 443-foot Riviera Radiance will feature a split-level bar and restaurant with an "airy ambience," Riviera said. There also will be an open-kitchen bistro and a third restaurant called Mosaic, which will offer menus with "tasting courses inspired by the rivers of Europe." Other amenities: a sun deck with pool, a fitness center, a spa and wellness area, and Riviera's largest-ever suites.

All 89 cabins will have double beds that can be converted to twin beds, a bathroom with rain showerhead, a desk with chair, a flat-screen TV, individually controlled air conditioning, a coffee machine and tea kettle.

Grand suites will be Riviera's largest at 344 square feet and will have a balcony with sliding doors and outdoor seating, plus a seating area with sofa, lounge chair and small table. Superior suites will be 258 square feet and have a French balcony with sliding doors and a seating area with a lounge chair and small table.

Double cabins will be 172 square feet and will have a seating area with lounge chair and small table. Upper- and middle-deck double cabins will have a French balcony with sliding doors, while lower-deck double cabins will have a smaller fixed window.

The Riviera Rose will be a smaller ship at 262 feet in length, accommodating 114 passengers in its 57 cabins. Like the Radiance, it will have amenities and cabins spread over four decks.

The Rose will feature a sun deck with sky lounge, bar and pool; a fitness center; and an "intimate yet relaxed restaurant with informal seating," Riviera said.

Rose and Radiance cabins will be similarly equipped, including double beds that can be converted to twins. Balcony suites will be 258 square feet and will have a French balcony with sliding doors and outdoor seating, plus a seating area with sofa, lounge chair and small table.

Standard cabins will be 172 square feet and will have a seating area with lounge chair and small table. Upper- and middle-deck standard cabins will have a balcony with sliding doors, while lower-deck standard cabins will have a smaller fixed window.
